Medical Conditions & Periodontal Disease

A number of medical conditions can increase the risk of developing gingivitis and periodontal disease. They include conditions that affect the immune system such as HIV/AIDS, leukemia, and possibly autoimmune disorders (Crohn's disease, multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus erythematosus).

Be sure to discuss/update all of your medical conditions with Dr. Sielicki at your dental visits.
