Invisalign Clear Braces in Scottsdale, AZ

Convenient and comfortable alternative to traditional braces

Many patients who suffer from uneven or misaligned teeth have considered straightening their smiles with orthodontics. However, the thought of a mouth full of metal brackets and wires usually stops them from getting traditional braces. Fortunately, Invisalign® treatment offers a convenient alternative. Dr. Ann Sielicki of Sonoran Dental Design in Scottsdale believes in the importance of properly aligned teeth, and to ensure a solid structural foundation, she offers Invisalign® treatment at her Scottsdale, AZ, dental practice.

What Are the Advantages of Invisalign®?

Invisalign Clear Braces Treatment Scottsdale AZInvisalign® is a modern orthodontic treatment that uses a series of clear, virtually invisible aligners to gradually move teeth into their proper position. These smooth, comfortable plastic trays are worn over the teeth and replaced every two weeks with a new set until the treatment is complete. Dr. Sielicki will monitor your progress throughout your treatment period, to ensure that it is on track.

At the end of the treatment period, which usually lasts about one year for adults, patients will be able to show off their new and improved smile.

Invisalign® offers a convenient option for patients who wish to correct their smile. Here are some of the advantages Invisalign offers over traditional braces:

Design: Invisalign aligners are clear and thin, meaning they won’t attract the attention of your friends or colleagues. The nearly invisible aligners allow you to smile confidently during and after treatment.

Maintenance: Unlike traditional metal braces, which are more difficult to clean, Invisalign® trays are removable for easy cleaning. Brushing and flossing teeth is also easier with Invisalign®. Additionally, patients do not have the same food restrictions that traditional braces require. However, patients undergoing Invisalign® treatment should still practice proper oral hygiene. This ensures a long-lasting, healthy-looking smile once your treatment period is complete.

Comfort: Teeth straightening with Invisalign® is virtually painless. Although some patients may feel some slight pressure at the beginning of each new phase of treatment, this is temporary and should go away within a few days.

Treatment length: The average length of treatment with Invisalign is one year while braces may need to be worn for two years or more.

Am I a Suitable Candidate?

We will evaluate your mouth, bite, teeth, and gums to determine if you are a suitable candidate for Invisalign®. Most candidates have minor spacing and alignment issues, such as:

  • Gaps between teeth
  • Overlapping or crowded teeth
  • An overbite or protruding upper teeth
  • Crossbite, underbite, or open bite

Before recommending Invisalign®, Dr. Sielicki will meet with you to evaluate your teeth and mouth. For cases of severe alignment, Dr. Sielicki may recommend an alternate treatment option.

How Does Invisalign® Work?

The first step in Invisalign® treatment is the evaluation appointment, during which X-rays, pictures, and impressions of your teeth will be taken. These will be used to create a 3D image that Dr. Sielicki can use to outline a custom treatment plan. Based on this plan, a set of thin, BPA-free plastic trays will be custom-made for you.

Invisalign® treatment progresses in stages. Approximately every two weeks, you will replace your current trays with a new set of aligner trays. Each new set of aligners will bring the teeth closer to their proper alignment. It is recommended that patients wear the trays for 22 hours each day, removing them only during eating and cleaning.

At the end of the treatment period, which usually lasts about one year for adults, patients will be able to show off their new and improved smile. To ensure that teeth remain in their newly corrected position, patients may need to wear a retainer. Dr. Sielicki will review your treatment duration and specific requirements with you during your first appointment.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does treatment last?

Treatment with Invisalign® varies from patient to patient. Patients with very mild teeth misalignment may only need to wear the aligners for as little as six months, while other patients may need to wear them for up to a year. Dr. Sielicki can provide you with a more accurate timeline of treatment during your first appointment.

How often will I need to wear my aligners?

For best results, you must wear your Invisalign® aligners for at least 22 hours a day. Aligners should only be removed for eating, brushing and cleaning the aligners.

Will the aligners affect my speech?

Invisalign® aligners may affect your speech temporarily, at the beginning of each new stage of treatment. This should go away after a few days, once your tongue and teeth have adjusted to the aligners.

Can the aligners slip off?

Invisalign® aligners are custom fabricated to your mouth’s unique specifications. Because of this, your aligners should easily slip over your teeth, fitting snugly (yet comfortably) over them with little chance of slipping out.

How do I clean my aligners?

You can clean your aligners by using the Invisalign Cleaning System, which Dr. Sielicki can provide. You can also brush and rinse the aligners in lukewarm water once a day.

How much does Invisalign® cost?

The cost of Invisalign treatment is comparable to the cost of traditional metal braces. Your treatment cost will depend on a variety of factors, including the degree of correction needed.
