It can be hard to properly brush crooked, overlapping teeth. Invisalign can change that, while also minimizing the chances of cavity formation.

After moving your teeth into the proper position, clear aligners can also make it easier for you to floss. As a result, you can enjoy a reduced risk of gum disease.

This allows Dr. Sielicki to plan and perform your treatment without ever resorting to uncomfortable dental putty.

Even though Invisalign aligners are custom-made for your teeth, patients will experience some soreness when they wear a new set of aligners. This is part of your teeth adjusting to the carefully guided tooth movement. Thankfully, any pain is mild and only lasts for a few days.

Always remove your Invisalign aligners before eating or drinking. You should not have any snacks or meals while wearing your aligner trays to prevent stains, damage, and bad breath. Cold water is the only thing you can drink with Invisalign aligners in.

Proper oral hygiene is essential over the next year to year and a half. Be sure to brush your teeth twice at least twice a day and floss your teeth every night. You don't need an interproximal brush or special floss threaders. Just take out your aligner and clean your teeth as normal.

You'll visit our Scottsdale office a few times between routine cleanings to monitor the position of your teeth and assess your progress. Think of these as orthodontic check-ins, similar to the ones you'd have with an orthodontist if you had braces. Feel free to ask questions and voice concerns.

You will receive a set of Invisalign retainers to wear for three months. After this holding period, you will wear a Hawley retainer on one dental arch and a night guard on the other. Some patients will need restorative work after the holding period, then also receive a retainer and night guard.

In addition to practicing diligent oral hygiene at home, you should attend routine dental examinations and cleanings. During these visits, Dr. Sielicki can assess your bite and ensure that your teeth are still in proper alignment. Any issues can be treated in a timely manner.
